Does it matter?

In this blog post, I've been asked to respond to the fact that many people still use AOL as their main internet service for email. I never was interested in AOL, but I know it's been around for ages. And in my honest opinion, if some people want to continue using AOL or an older service, who's going to stop them?

I certainly don't want to seek out every AOL user remaining and force them into newer services just to leave them confused and upset because they may not understand how this new service works. I think that one of the big reasons that people stay with older services is because they know the ins and outs of said service and they really don't want to have the freshman-in-college feel when they try something that they don't understand and don't know where things are or how they work.

So, really, does it matter if this person uses AOL and the other person uses gmail? No, not unless they don't get the emails that they need. Just my opinion.
